Fauna of Kashmir

Pardosa Amentata

Pardosa Amentata, also known as the wolf spider or spotted wolf spider, is a species of spider in the genus Pardosa that belongs to the Lycosidae family of wolf spiders. The species has a wide range and is abundant in mountainous ridges of Jammu and Kashmir, central Europe, and northwestern Europe, as well as on the British Isles in open habitats and damp areas. In the winter, they can be found in homes near windows, doors, plants, and basements to avoid the cold. Instead of weaving a web, Pardosa Amentata hunts its prey on the ground.

Gastropods

Slugs are gastropods that do not have a shell or have only an internal shell. Semi-slug Snails are land snails with only a very small shell (that they cannot retract into). Helix pomatia is a land snail species. They are commonly found near ditches, deep water hydrothermal vents, the pounding surf of rocky shores, caves, and a variety of other locations throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
